About Pastor Mark

Pastor Mark Rogers and his wife, Cristy, began serving at Lighthouse Baptist Church in August 2020. For Mark, returning to Lighthouse is a homecoming. He grew up right next door in Swain County, and serving this community is a deeply personal calling.

He holds an undergraduate degree from Carson-Newman University (formerly Carson-Newman College) in Jefferson City, Tennessee, as well as two Master’s degrees from Piedmont International University (now Carolina University) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Over the years, Pastor Mark has served churches across several states, including North Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Ohio. His experience and heart for ministry reflect a lifelong commitment to teaching God’s Word and shepherding God’s people.

Welcome, and thank you for visiting the Lighthouse Church website!

I’m so glad you’re taking a moment to learn more about us. This site offers a great first look at our church family, but I think the best way to experience Lighthouse is to visit in person. Whether you join us on a Sunday morning, a Wednesday night, or at a special event, we’d love to meet you. Please don’t hesitate to say hello or reach out with any questions.

If you’d like a preview of our worship services, you can find one of our recent messages on YouTube or Facebook. My heart is for people to grow in their understanding of God’s Word. My preaching is exegetical, which simply means I seek to teach the Bible clearly and faithfully, verse by verse. Whether the message is encouraging, challenging, or both, the goal is always to help us hear what Scripture says and live it out.
